For the past 20 years, Jim Calvin has been President of the New York Association of Convenience Stores (NYACS), an award-winning trade organization representing 8,500 neighborhood convenience stores statewide.
Founded in 1986, NYACS is a private, not-for-profit trade association dedicated to unifying, serving, and representing the convenience store industry of New York State. NYACS is a member-driven organization that leads, safeguards, and forges a favorable environment for New York State’s diverse, dynamic community of neighborhood convenience stores. NYACS provides return on membership investment by continuously delivering vital knowledge, a unified voice on legislative and regulatory issues, access to business solutions, and ways for members to share ideas, address common challenges, and build relationships.
In a previous life, Jim was a newspaper editor, a chamber of commerce executive, and a bank marketing director. He is a graduate of Utica College and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institutes for Organization Management.
He and his wife Jean and 19-year-old daughter Amanda Joy reside in Valatie NY, south of Albany.
