Margaret is the Vice President, Chief People Officer for Wawa, a chain of more than 800 convenience stores located in six states across the eastern United States and the District of Columbia. Wawa is known for their fresh food selection, award winning coffee and legendary customer service. Wawa is a family and associate-owned, privately-held company. Over 30,000 associates provide convenient, friendly and inviting experiences for over 1.5 million customers every day.
Margaret joined Wawa in November 2017 as the Chief People Officer. In her role, Margaret oversees all HR functions, including Workforce Planning, Organizational Development, Leadership Development, Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Retirement, Benefits and Wellness, HRIT systems, as well as, Internal Communications, Engagement and Recognition.
Prior to joining Wawa, Margaret spent 14 years with Target, most recently as their Vice President of Human Resources for the North East where she led a team of seven HR Directors, 31 HR Business Partners and 480+ in-store HR Leaders, who supported 70,000 store team members that achieved over $17.7 Billion dollars in sales annually. Prior to Target, Margaret held the positions of; Vice President of Human Resources for yet.com, an online technology marketplace; and Vice President of Recruiting Services for Crimson & Brown Associates, a subsidiary of the Washington Post Company. Margaret started her career with McKinsey & Company, in New York City.
Margaret is originally from New Jersey and holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Kutztown University. She obtained her Master of Science in HR Management from the New School for Social Research in New York and holds a Certification in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University. Margaret is a member of SHRM and the International Coaching Federation.
