Director of Partnerships & Preferred Vendor Programs | Empire Petroleum Partners
Ted has more than 35 years of convenience store industry experience with an emphasis on operations and marketing. Having started as a part-time night manager in 1981, Ted worked his way to store manager and then on to supervisor and eventually promoted to district manager overseeing 16 Cumberland Farms stores in South Florida in 1985.
Ted was promoted to regional manager trainee in 1992 and trained all new district managers in a 50-store region with Cumberland Farms. Mansfield Oil recruited Ted in 1993 as part of its Kangaroo expansion program and relocated him to Gainesville, Ga., as a district manager over 10 locations. He was later promoted to trainer of all new district manager’s in 1998. When The Pantry acquired the Kangaroo locations in 1999, Ted stayed on for the transition and was promoted to divisional director in 2000 at The Pantry for the state of Georgia and then promoted over the Columbia, SC division of 70 locations and 12 Subways in 2001.
Ted moved on to open his own BP store in Georgia in 2002 and grew his company to 12 locations from Toccoa, Ga. to Brunswick, Ga. The stores flew the Shell, Texaco, CITGO and BP banners. The stores were sold in 2006 and Ted went back to Mansfield Oil and co-founded the preferred vendor program, to bring value-adds to the dealer’s that Mansfield delivered fuel to through aggressive vendor programs that brought additional sales and profits and treated small business owners as chain accounts. Empire Petroleum acquired the Mansfield retail book of business in September 2014 and brought this program to Empire.
Ted has been actively raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association dating back to 1993. This is very dear and close to Ted’s heart to make a difference and strive daily for a cure. Additionally, he is active in the MDA Mansfield Oil Golf fundraiser, which set a fundraising record in 2018.
