Stinker was founded in 1936 by Farris Lind. The first store was a service station in Twin Falls, Idaho. Stinker has grown over the years and operates convenience stores and truck stops throughout Idaho. The company currently employs more than 500 people.
In addition to Stinker convenience stores, the Stinker family of companies includes Arrowrock Supply and Westpoint Transportation. Arrowrock Supply is a tobacco and grocery wholesale distribution company serving Stinker and other retailers throughout Idaho. Westpoint Transportation specializes in the transportation of motor fuels and petroleum products in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana.
Charley Jones purchased Stinker Stores in 2002. He was raised in Boise and graduated with honors from the University of Idaho in 1974, earning a B.S. Business degree with an Accounting major. Charley is a C.P.A. and began his business career in Boise working for the public accounting firm that is now Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited.
Charley’s varied work experience includes finance, accounting, and leadership roles in the construction, hi-tech manufacturing, and wholesale distribution industries. He was President of Idaho’s largest Anheuser-Busch beer distributorship prior to purchasing Stinker Stores. Charley and his wife Nancy have two teenage sons, Nikolaus and Duncan.
