From painting curbs at his family’s first gas station in 1983 to creating a new brand for his family business, Larry Jackson has hands-on experience with just about every facet of convenience store operations.
Larry’s initial career plans did not include working in his family business, however he found his passion working alongside his family in the convenience segment in 1997.
In 2005 he developed the Good to Go Markets brand to market the Howard County, Md-based chain. Recently, Larry combined his passion for the culinary arts and serving customers, to create the Bullhead Pit Beef food truck. Specializing in Baltimore’s version of BBQ, Pit Beef, the food truck has become a popular addition to the food truck scene in central Maryland.
He is now developing the concept for a retail location. Two-time past president of The Ellicott City Rotary Club. Past recipient of the ExxonMobil Retail Excellence Award, Larry currently serves as a member of the NACS Convention Education Committee and the NACS Political Engagement team.
Larry has a degree in Colonial American History from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and has worked as a staff archaeologist in Historic St. Mary’s City. He currently lives with his wife and two children in Columbia, Md.
